Strabane Rocks for Charity 1986

Strabane done its bit for charity in 8th June 1986 a lot of money was raised for good causes.

The concert followed in the footsteps of Live Aid and Band Aid to help charities.

The concert went on for many hours and there was a large crowd  present in the grounds of Melvin park, a well organized affair from start to finish, I remember seeing all the bands enjoying themselves as they played to the crowd, the atmosphere was some thing the town will never forget.

There has been rumors that it might happen again and even a few trying to get it off the ground, but from what I hear red tape is killing their efforts I can only hope it happens again soon.
